How about the third week

Salam and what’s up guys????

As usual it’s time for me to update my blog. On the previous 27th of July, we had our third lecture of Resources subject .On that day, we had used our reference book for the first time. The book written by Susan Halliwell entitled Teaching English in the Primary Classroom. This book is quite useful since it has many tips and guidelines for teaching the young learners.
After that, our lecturer; Puan Foziah had divided us into six big groups as there were six principles working with young language learners. These were the principles:

i) Children’s ability to grasp meaning
ii) Children’s creative use of limited language resources.
iii) Children’s capacity for indirect learning.
iv) Children’s instinct for play and fun.
v) The role of imagination
vi) The instinct for interaction and talk.

We were asked to discuss on the chosen principles. My group got the 5th principle which is the role of imagination. We were also given one hour to finish it as we need to present our principle using power point. It looked easy but it hard to make other to understand of what the message that we want to convey. This is the time where we divided our works so that we can finish it in one hour and of course we manage to finish it.

Before we present our tasks, our lecturer had given an overview of our second assignment. Basically, the assignment required us to collect as many teaching aids that we can use in the classroom later. Then, based on the teaching aids we will design our lesson plan. It was not over there as we need to justify why we choose those teaching aids and for sure we need to refer our "holy" syllabus and curriculum specifications. Then, we continued our lecturer with the presentations however not all group finished their presentations. I will update it in the next entry. I end my blog for this week here…..

See you next week..Salam….
